Living in US & missing Indian taste was a usual thing , So thought to bring the best delicacy flavors here too and feel delighted for making people sizzle their taste buds back to Indian taste . So i start with the basic north Indian Recipe "SHAHI PANEER". ( Indian cottage cheese in rich tomato gravy ) Surely would turn out the way you taste in restras.
INGREDIENTS :
* Paneer - 150 gms
* Tomatoes - 3 chopped
* Onion - 2 Chopped
* Full Cream - 4 tbsp
* Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
* Cardamom - 1 clove
*Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
* Butter - 1 tsp
* Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
* Chilly powder - 1 tbsp
* Coriander powder - 2 tsp
*Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
* Black pepper powder - - A pinch
* MDH Kashmiri chilly powder or Food colour - 1 tsp (Gives colour )
* MDH meat masala - 1tsp
* Kasuri methi - 1 tbsp
* Toamto ketchup - 1 n half tbsp
* Cashew - 2-3 full
* Salt - According to taste
* Oil - 3 tbsp
*Sugar - 1/2 tsp
METHOD :
Chop Paneer into small cubes and sprinkle little salt and mashed kasuri methi , red chilly powder and black pepper .Mix well . Leave and keep aside .
Gravy :
In a pan , add oil , after it gets warm add the cumin (jeera) . Let it sizzle and then add the chopped onions. Cook for one minute and then add ginger garlic paste. Cook until light brown . Then add the chilly powder , coriander powder , meat masala , turmeric , and kashmiri chilly powder . Stir for few seconds and then add tomatoes . Add one fourth cup of water, salt and cover the tomatoes . Cook on low flame and stir in between. Then add kasuri methi ketchup and cashews . Cook until oil seperates. Now in blender , blend this mixture and add little water according to the thickness wanted . In the same pan add butter and put back the blended mix back , and then put the paneer cubes in the gravy . Add sugar and garam masala and cook for 1 minute . Then add cream and cardamom and cover for 5 - 10 minutes . Stir in between . Add salt according to taste and serve with butter on top with indian bread !
